It took me a while to pluck up the courage to book myself on the ‘New You Boot Camp’, but after I did I was excited and nervous at the same time. All the girls and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I found all the activities tough but gave everything my all and laughed along the way. We couldn’t have asked for two better PTI trainers, they had our best interests at heart every second and pushed us to achieve our goals. I didn’t expect to enjoy myself this much and it is by far one of the best things I have ever done.
Leanne Dowsett – Back to Basics Feb 19th-26th 2010 – Lost 9lbs and 9.5 Inches
I arrived at boot camp feeling mentally and physically tired. But after the hardest three days of my life I started to feel my strength and energy return and feel totally refreshed emotionally and physically. The Best Experience!!
Lynne Bain - Back to Basics Feb 19th-26th 2010
Quite honestly I had begun to think that I could only ever put on weight. New You Boot Camp was my last resort. When I arrived in Wales I was so unfit and thought I was going to peg out on the first day but thanks to Staff Fergersen, Staff Ford and Staff Christmas' I made it through and lost 7lbs, 7.5 inches (2.5 of those off my waist), and then went on to loose another 6lbs over the following 4 weeks and kept that weight off all the way up to Christmas. About 3lbs snuck on over the holidays but Portugal - with Staff Evans, Staff Ford and Staff Lord's help - has pointed me in the right direction again and I kicked the 3lbs (5.5 inches) in to touch. All in all I started a size 14 and find myself this week zipping up a size 10! Wow!!!
I truly believe that New You Boot Camp offers the winning formula... your guys are the business! They are fabulous motivators, with the right spinkling of humour and instructional insight. And let's not forget that they are awesome to watch in action! For me, Wales was a brutal shake-up - "Back to Basics" did exactly what it stated and I really appreciated the results-oriented approach the staff took. Portugal was a lot more fun, partly because I'm more energised but also because the staff and guests made it so. I was totally impressed that you and the guys did the same swimming pool circuit as us. What's also important is that I've come away with really practical tips on what to do to keep on track - Staff Lord's nutrition detail, Staff Evans talk on cardio-anatomy and Staff Ford's circuit drills all delivered helpful insights and advice. Until next time 13th Feb Fitness day!
Selina Bolton Portugal Boot Camp Jan 16th -23rd 2010
If anyone is thinking about going on Boot Camp I would suggest close your eyes and just book it, be prepared to push yourself and reap the rewards. The buzz and sense of achievement I got from doing the January Boot Camp in Portugal has really got me into a whole new educated world of food and exercise. I lost 7lbs and 13.5 inches of body fat and although it is hard to keep it up when you are back into a normal routine, I remember the buzz from Boot Camp and that is driving me on to continue to be healthy. I went on my own and met some amazing people who were all so friendly and encouraging! I had the best time. Thank you NYBC Team.
Laura Faircloth Portugal Boot Camp January 16th – 23rd 2010 Weightloss 7lbs and 13.5 inches loss
I’m so thrilled to finally break the 10 stone barrier at last! It’s been a few years on the wrong side. I love the ‘quick fix’ philosophy and I have already proved it is possible to keep the weight off. Good Luck with future boot camps.
Pat Blacker – Portugal January 16th-23rd – Lost 8lbs and 6.6 Inches
Well I can't believe how quickly time has passed and I thought I would send you an update with how I have been getting on since camp.
I think some of you were aware the main reason I went to camp was to try and improve my chances of falling pregnant as we had been trying for nearly 3 years and had been unsuccessful. Anyway I am delighted to tell you that I am now 12 weeks pregnant and I had my scan on Monday. It looks like my baby is a real jumping bean! I am absolutely over the moon and I can't thank you all enough for all your friendship and support during our week away. I fully believe that a lifestyle change at boot camp was the main contributor to me falling pregnant. The experience really has changed my life for the better, although admittedly I am still partial to a diet coke and some choccie but hey I am only human after all.
I hope you have all been doing well and have had a great summer.
Claire Carroll - Back To Basics – June 2009 – Lost 9lbs and 13.5 inches
I went to the basic boot camp in April this year, I am 53 years old and found out about boot camp from my hairdressers in Kendal. Both girls had already been to boot camp and had lost a significant amount of weight. An article was featured in a magazine in the salon and from that they explained what it was like. I know the girls well as I've been going to this hairdressers for some time. they are both much younger than me but encouraged me to go and try it out. I lost 7 pounds at boot camp and have since lost a further 12 pounds in weight. I have got back into a fitness routine, after 4 years, of attending the gym, watching my weight, eating a healthy diet; and have greatly improved my stamina and overall fitness.
Christine McGregor – April 4th-11th – Lost 7lbs and 9 Inches
'A fantastic experience filled with laughter, the odd moaning and a great sense of achievement. I am now far more confident about my body and what it can achieve, which is A LOT in one week! I have New You Boot Camp to thank for getting rid of my fear of horse riding, after a jumping accident left me a very nervous rider. A week at New You Boot Camp in December built my confidence and fitness level to a point, where I could spend a week on horse back without any fear. Sunny took great care of us at camp and our PT instructors made sure we worked as hard as we could without injuring ourselves. The chef produced great food and the nutritionist gave us really helpful advice. When you leave Boot Camp you feel like a new person with lots of energy and a renewed enthusiasm for life, and of course a good few pounds lighter. If you do anything for yourself in 2010, make sure you book onto this Boot Camp, you will not regret it. If nothing else, you will make new friends and go home with many stories about how the Royal Marines put you through your paces in the depths of the Welsh countryside!
Georgie, Back To Basics 4th -11th December 2009– Lost 8lbs and 12.5 inches
After years of being unhappy with my weight l knew l had to do something extreme. After reading a few success stories on the NYBC website l decided to book myself in. With less than a week to prepare l did not know what l was letting myself in for.
On the first day l suffered from horrendous blisters (my own fault for not breaking into my walking boots). Throughout the week l really struggled and on many occasions l wanted to leave, but Sunny and the other ladies were incredibly supportive and encouraging. I really owe them all a big thank you.
Staff Ferguson and Laskey were fantastic motivators, they really knew how to push you to your limits. I knew it was due to their constant pushing that l achieved what l had. Also just want to thank staff Ferguson for changing my plasters on my feet every morning, you went beyond the call of duty.
Thank You New You Boot Camp for everything.
Sobia – Back to Basics Dec 4th-11th 2009 – Weight loss 14lbs
I have struggled all my life with food either too much or not enough, the same with exercise. New You Boot Camp has put me back on track with regards to both. I now can actually run and jog, which I never had done before and have the confidence to try out new types of fitness. New You Boot Camp motivates you to eat properly and respect your body. The guys there are really great and support you all the way through your journey to health and happiness.
Rhian Beaton – December 4th-11th Back to Basics – Lost 7lbs and 9.4 Inches
I had been exercising 4 times a week for 7 weeks and sticking to a healthy diet prior and I was so frustrated that I was not losing weight I decided to book a week at newyoubootcamp.
New You Boot Camp Portugal was a great success for me. I have lost 7lbs and 2.5 inches off my waist. I thought the hotel was luxurious with all the swimming pools, fountains and Jacuzzi the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable! I went to improve my current fitness level and drop a dress size. I thought the food provided in the restaurant was very filling and the staff and activities were thoroughly enjoyable. The information I have been given by the nutritionist was very informative and I will now be making slight changes to my current diet so that I can achieve even more weight loss.
Thank you to all the staff at New You Boot Camp, I would be delighted to recommend you to anyone who is considering a weight loss programme.
I have just arrived back yesterday and I feel totally energised and have even managed to fit into a pair of trousers that were struggling too fit me! Thank you very much for helping me achieve my goal!
Jane Houghton – Portugal Nov 26th-3rd – Lost 7lbs and 4 inches
'Before getting to boot camp I had heard women say it had changed their lives, but part of me didn't really believe it. But after a week at bootcamp, I'm a convert. Not only have I lost 5lbs and 3 inches from my waist, my body has totally changed. I have been this weight before, but have never had such a smooth silhouette, or been so toned. The difference really is dramatic. Now I can forget about dieting, and just concentrate on doing lots of fun exercise to maintain the weight loss. I feel like I can finally get on with my life and stop fretting about my weight and body shape. I'm so happy and grateful.'
Six Months On Update: Just wanted to say that 6 months down the line I am still singing New You Boot Camp praises and have continued to keep up with the boot camp mind set and exercise ethos and have awarded you ‘Best Boot Camp in the world with life changing results!’ except no imitations – you guys are clearly the best – and I will stand by that!
Flavia Bertolini – Celebs On Sunday
I signed up for boot camp for several reasons... Partly to lose weight I have been gaining for the past couple of years and partly to try and remember my love of fitness, which I have managed to forget recently. I signed up not knowing what to really expect, but based on other fitness holidays I have been on the week surpassed any expectations I had. The sheer volume of things that gets packed into each day from the minute you arrive is outstanding.
The PTIs were fantastic in both pushing us beyond our limits and supporting us when we needed some motivation. The three of them worked great together and they all had different strengths. Also, the activities during the week are varied enough to make sure everyone can stay interested. On the camp as a whole, I did not think I could lose as much weight or inches as I did. I honestly did not believe it and I almost fell over when Emma told me as it is almost impossible to really notice it on yourself. I have muscles now that I have not seen for a very long time! I am doing my best to keep up some of the things that I learned now that I am back to real life. I cannot say enough good things about the week - I met some really great people during the week and being in the "bubble" of boot camp really gave me a chance to think about other aspects of my life that I do not get time to think about on a normal basis.
I have since signed up for Ride Across Britain, which will be a miracle if I can achieve it... so you may find me back at boot camp next year in order to push me over the edge! Thanks to Sunny and Emma for all their organising and thanks to the Staff for all of their hard work in putting up with our moaning all week!
Amy Hamilton – Country Manor New You Boot Camp, Devon Nov 7th-14th , Lost 10lbs and 9.7 inches!
Following a period of very little exercise, at 34 years I needed to improve my fitness and muscle tone. The Staff at New You Boot Camp have been fantastic, pushing you to the best of your ability, but also understanding and accommodating!
Tara Kearney – Country Manor November 7th-14th – Lost 9lbs and 13.3 Inches
I have to say that it was an excellent week at New You Boot camp. Even though I found it extremely hard, the girls were lovely and the instructors were brilliant. First class in fact! It was a memorable experience and I'm so glad I did it.
Dawn Owens, Country Manor Nov 7th-14th, Lost 5lbs and 7.3 inches
I loved New You Boot Camp in a wierd sense. I wish I'd written a diary when I was there. During boot camp, I absolutely hated it but by the end of it, it was well worth it. I've kept in touch with my full group, they were amazing people. The staff were fantastic too. It was the toughest week of my life, and I never want to do it again, but it was also the best week, as it was life changing for me. I am now fitter and slimmer, have learnt lots about food, and lots about myself. I have changed for the better. I no longer have such a fear of heights, as I did before, and I will never moan about taking my puppy dog out in the rain again. If it weren't for the staff, I wouldn't have conquered my fears, and achieved what I achieved. Ferguson and Laskey were a great combination, two totally different types of people, but knew how to get the best out of you. I am so glad they were our trainers. They're great guys! I have only them to thank.
Siobhan Hunter – October 30th-6th Back To Basics – Lost 7lbs and 7.5 Inches
At 15st 7lbs, I looked at a photograph and realised I was fat! Being an instant gratification person I knew I had to hit the ground running – 4 New You Boot Camps Later (and some serious hard work in between, which I would never have been motivated to do without NYBC) – I’m 10 stone! Yipee
Tracie Bates – Portugal Boot Camp Oct 25th - November 1st
Bootcamp was one of the hardest things I have ever done and at times I didn't think I would make it to the end of the week, but I did and I am so glad. I feel fitter and healthier and so much better about myself. All the staff were so supportive and really helped us all to achieve our best. I was with a great bunch of girls and really enjoyed their company.
Anna Dimes – Lost 7lbs and 12.2 Inches at Back to Basics September 18th-25th
Hi there Thank you so much for a fantastic week at New You Boot Camp which I would highly recommend to anyone who wants quick results and a fantastic kick start to a diet. What better way to go through torture than with 29 other likeminded determined ladies. I couldn't believe the scales at the end of the week and I'm trying very, very hard to keep it all up. Good Luck with Portugal and who knows I may try to lose another 12 pounds next year over there.
Three cheers for Staff Thom, Gough and Keast
Regards
Pat Blacker
Just a quick update to let you know how I'm getting on!
The main reason for me signing up to New You Boot Camp was to learn to love exercise again and therefore be in control of my weight.
I have maintained my post Boot Camp weight even though I have had 6 months of parties, travels and family get togethers.
My biggest achievement was this weekend... Finally I fulfilled the promise I made to New You Boot Camp Staffs and entered a 10Km race. I came 2nd lady, in a time of 46mins!
Best of all... I've got the bug back and need to enter another 10km to achieve a better time.
Can you please pass this on to 'Little Staff' and 'Big Al' and send a BIG THANKYOU from me for giving me the strength (mostly mental) to 'Live the dream'!
Best wishes and a Big Thanks
Fiona Muncaster May 4th-11th 2009 New You Boot Camp
I got back from boot camp early afternoon on Friday 25th September having had the most rewarding week of my life. I managed to complete the week and tried everything and got great results. Not only did I lose 13 lbs in the week but my fitness level grew unbelievably. I went from just about being able to jog for 12 minutes to running continuously for one hour. I am stronger not only physically but I am mentally more alert too. The PTI's were fantastic and know just how to get the very best results; they spurred me on to do much more than I thought I could. The cold water barrels were surprisingly refreshing and very good for aches and pains. The week was tough without a doubt but I have to admit I am kind of missing the place and people now I’m back at home. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a kick up the back side, it's great to get you going. Thanks again!
Deb Jones – 18th – 25th September
I’d read about celebrities going to New You Boot Camp and getting great results, so I wanted to try it myself. As well as meeting 23 new friends I actually feel great about myself! I’ve never detoxed before and didn’t believe I could do it at the same time as exercising to the extent that we have. I’ve lost weight, inches and toned up, what more could I ask for! Also the PTI’s were great guys and I would come to another one next year if they ran it. Great Stuff.
Jennie - Back to Basics 18th-25th September 2009
Having lost 3 stone in the last year and got fitter I needed a challenge to spur me on to my next goals. New You Boot Camp seemed like a good idea, fun and fitness, so when my friend suggested it I thought ‘why not’ – I have enjoyed my week, it has been tough and it has shown me that I can do much more than I thought!
Julia – Back to Basics 18th-25th September 2009
I try to work out but find it difficult to fit it around my schedule. New You Boot Camp has taught me how simple exercise can be and how to really push myself. I hope to continue this into the future and the PTI’s have really inspired me. Thanks!
Paula – Back to Basics 18th-25th September 2009
I have had the most amazing week! I found it very difficult initially but at no time would I have given up. I have also had a very bad year and needed to get away. It was either Barbados or New You Boot Camp and I chose the latter! The last 7 days have given me the opportunity to think about my life and I have come out of it feeling extremely positive. Not only have I lost weight, toned up, and had a fantastic time, but I have also found the inner strength I needed so much to work through my problems. Thank you to all the PTI Staff. You have been fantastic! I will be back next year!
Caroline Austin – Back to Basics 18th-25th September 2009
"I arrived in Wales with my friend full of a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I'd read so many stories and didn't really know what to expect. The bunk house was lovely, the room was compact but adequate (after all, it was 'New You Boot Camp - back to basics'). Every day was filled with new challenges which kept me motivated and keen to succeed. All the staff were supportive, motivational and very knowledgeable. I had a great time and achieved everything I'd set out to do. Thank you New You Boot Camp, I'll be back for a 'booster session'".

New You Boot Camp – Back to Basics September 4-11
I’ve always been the fat kid but last year I turned 20 and realised that I’m not a kid anymore. I was heavier in stones than I am old in years. I lost 4 stone by the time I entered New You Boot Camp and another 8lbs just this week, well on the way to being happy with my body shape!
Nicola lost a fab 8lbs and 10.3 inches!
Nicola Blackwood – Back to Basics Boot Camp – September 4th-11th 2009
I was feeling in a bit of a rut and wanted to kick start my diet and fitness regime. This week has probably been one of the hardest of my life, but on reflection one of the best. The staff were fantastic – tough but encouraging and you could have a laugh with them. New You Boot Camp has really motivated me to continue!
Maxine achieved an amazing loss of 13lbs and 10.5 inches!
Maxine Matheison – Back to Basics Boot Camp – September 4th-11th 2009
The week with New You Boot Camp was truly fantastic – the hardest and best experience of my life! They guys were all fab and made sure we worked hard. I can’t admit to keeping all of the weight off but the inches seem to be holding at bay a little! Probably a good idea that I have put on a little as my hub went nuts as he could count my ribs! I was rather pleased! I definitely will be back at some stage and am really missing the amount of exercise! Unfortunately work is interfering with that but I am aiming to do two sessions a day most days.
I did catch the channel 5 news with the New You Boot Camp piece – it was really well done and a nice memento!
Thanks for all your help!
JHB - Back to Basics Boot Camp – August 21-28 2009
I just wanted to thank New You Boot Camp for a great week last week. I learnt loads and although it was really hard work, I had an awesome amount of fun. Please can you pass on my thanks to all three staff members, Fergie for organising everything and encouraging us to work sooooo hard, Christmas for letting us play Bucket Ball and other team games and Ford for his brilliant sense of humour that kept us all going. They really did keep us motivated and allowed us to achieve great results.
Also, a big thank you to Kirstie for looking after me with my sunburn and accompanying dizziness, without her supporting me by buying burn dressings and allowing me to make the decision to stay in camp for the week, I would not have achieved my great results.
I thoroughly enjoyed the boot camp experience and am already thinking about signing up for one of the day courses!!! (Glutton for punishment eh?)
Thank you!
Shelly Mayes
Shelly lost a total of 9lbs and 13inches. Well Done Shelly!
Back to Basics Boot Camp – August 21-29 2009
I have tried to get fit by running but I was getting pain under my feet, knee and back. I was referred to a physiotherapist because of it. At the same time I booked on to New You Boot Camp to loose weight, but due to a discovery by the physio, I had to delay coming to New You Boot Camp.
At the end of my treatment with the physio I was in a great position to tackle the challenges at New You Boot Camp.
I loved the week, thank you so much and I can really feel the difference.
Jenna Argent – Back to Basics Boot Camp – August 21-28 2009
Jenna lost a fantastic 6lbs and 10 inches!
New You Boot Camp was an incredible experience and so what I needed to kick me into shape. Even though it was by far the toughest thing I had to do (even giving birth seemed easy)! I loved it and gained such knowledge from the week. Since being back for the week I have lost another pound and my daily work outs are done with a bigger/stronger/longer target...yes I am a happy girl! I am in touch with some of the great women from camp and plan to do the Richmond Park Fitness Day, but for now I am off to the coast in turkey!
Warm regards
I have just returned from the latest New You Boot Camp in the Brecon Beacons. I am delighted to have lost 8 pounds while there & have returned feeling so much fitter. I worked my backside off while there but boy have I reaped the benefits. As I hate filling in forms I do not feel that I did service to your feed back form on Friday morning & therefore I just wanted to contact you to say that my best bits of boot camp had to be Staff Gough & Lord. For me they made the week. Staff Lord especially went above & beyond the call of duty. He was inspirational & his nutritional advice was second to none. Thanks to him I have left with a belief in myself & a sense of direction that I know I will achieve my goals in the future & although it was hard week it will always be a fantastic memory & sense of achievement.
So far so good for me am continuing to loose weight and have just been on a New You Boot Camp Richmond Park Fitness Day which was brilliant, i took my sister -in-law and she totally died, the great thing was that although it was hard i found it much more manageable because i have been able to keep up my training since bootcamp. I am also lifting much heavier weights than i have ever done, so feeling really fit. I have booked another fitness day in September and think some of the girls are doing the same so should be a mini reunion which i am looking forward to. Remember the email from New You talking about cookery lessons; i would be very interested as i feel this is the area that i am the most in need of assistance now. i have repeated the recepies from boot camp and they are great but i need more nutritional skills to maintain, i rebelled against mum wanting to teach me to cook when i was younger and i am paying for it now. To summarise feeling fitter than ever, eating well and willing to learn how to cook more variety of things - who says miricles can't happen!

Well I can't believe how quickly the last 4 months have passed and I thought I would send you an update with how I have been getting on since camp.

Claire Carroll – Back To Basics – June 2009
I have always struggled with weight and fitness, I start some crazy diet, Last a few days and then go completely of the rails, So as extreme as it sounded I booked a weeks boot camp and paid the deposit before I could change my mind.
Day 1 proved to be an eye opener, The fit test left me gasping for breath, How was I going to complete a full days training when running for 5 mins nearly killed me, Or at least that’s how it felt.
There were exercises planned on the course, and your first reaction is, yeah right like I can do that!
But with the support of New You Boot Camp and the other ladies on the course, you finish every task they set you.
Ok I was not as fast or as agile as some, but hey, day 1 I could not run for 5 mins, by day 4 I was running round the block pulling a mini bus with my team mates.
There was one thing in particular on New You Boot Camp, that I was so pleased about.
I am not a lover of the open water, and yet I went on a Kayake! Why? Because it was that or sit it out and there was no way I was going to loose out on a few more hours exercise that’s how much it gets you motivated.
When it came to the weigh in I thought I would never meet my target of 7lb, Not in one week, but all the hard work really does pay off – I lost 11lb and over 13 inches, just through trying that little bit harder and not always taking the easy option.
Since coming home I have made certain changes that I thought I would never do, I no longer drink diet coke, have restricted my tea and coffee when I am out, and when at home I have it with Soya milk (Which only a few weeks before I would have thought yuk)
When I go to the gym now, I really work. When I went before I thought I was working hard, but now I am pushed by trained professionals I know what I am really capable off, which is more than I ever did in the past.
I also try to go running a couple of times a week and have entered myself into a 10 mile road race. OK, so I might end up walking a lot of it, But I don’t mind that, it will just give me a target to beat on the next one.
And there will be a next one, Marathon here I come!
Samantha Thompson New You Boot Camp June 2009. Weight loss 11lbs and 13 inches
Hi Sunny,
After losing 8lb at bootcamp I lost a further 6lb last week so feeling much better for being a stone lighter. Just need to lose one more. I’m being very virtuous at the moment but have some ‘challenges’ ahead including hen weekends and weddings so might have to adopt the 80/20 rule those weekends!
Thanks again for your support during the week. Not sure if I could manage a whole week again but would definitely be up for a ‘booster’ type long weekend if you ever consider doing a mini bootcamp.
Say Hi to Taz for me….
Kelly - New You Boot Camp June 20-27 Weight Loss 8lbs - total weight loss 10 days later 14lb
I have lost over 2 stone since attending New You Boot Camp only 3 months ago. I am now 9 stone 10. You may recall that I lost the least amount of weight in the history of the camp: one pound! I haven't done much exercise actually, work has been completely mad, but New You Boot Camp seemed to break my terrible eating patterns, I have lost the craving for bad food, and I am being more organised with meals (instead of eating nothing all day with a big binge at night, it is 3 meals a day): I actually feel hungry and realise that I really have to eat and make sure that I do eat regularly. Cannot manage the snacks though. I am not being obsessive about food (don't want to do without my 2 coffees a day with real milk!) just careful. It has made a big difference. I think the camp also shifted my metabolism. I was a size 16, now my size 12 trousers are hanging off me, can fit into a Hobbs size 10 (but not yet a Jigsaw size 10!), anticipate being back into my size 8 clothes by the end of the year (hard to believe that 3 years ago I was 8.5 stone, size 8, but well on the way to getting there). I look like myself again (almost).
I am seriously considering coming to another New You Boot Camp before the end of the year if I can organise it to try and do another kick start, will let you know.
Jane A May 9-16 New You Boot Camp Country Manor
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff, especially Sunny, Staff Lord, Hall and Benjamin for making my time at NYBC a very memorable one!! I do hope you enjoy reading my write up in Grazia. Here's hoping I don't look like too much of a sweaty lump in my glamorous Grazia photo debut!
I'd really like to attend one of the fitness days in Richmond Park. It would be nice to know if one of the Staff who looked after us last week was going to take it. Familiarity and all that.
I might even rope a few friends and family in as well! New You Boot Camp has re-ignited my love for sport and I have already taken a Boxercise class (today) which I found easier than usual (she says, smugly). So I certainly have gained a lot from my time with you guys. Hell, I might even go for a run tomorrow!
Anyway, thanks again for your hospitality and expertise, for helping me through it, making my stay comfortable and for getting me a massage when my muscles were begging for mercy. My friends really can't believe I did it, especially since I don't usually go anywhere without heels and full make up!
I hope to see at least some of you again in the future.
Much love and thanks,
Anna-Lou – April 18-25 Boot Camp (Writer for Grazia Magazine)
I want to congratulate you on developing a great product; the programme does deliver. I have felt calm and focussed since completing the Camp and with a new sense of "can do" I have been able to fit into some trousers now which was an objective and thus feel a "new you", and keen to continue to reap the benefits.
I have also got my old mountain bike out and had it serviced, bought proper running shoes from the running shop and had gait assessment to continue the "new skills" long forgotten.
The nutritionist was excellent; I was very sceptical about the detox diet ,but her suggestions for each of us were practical and sensible.I have made changes to my diet and feel that I can attain a nearer ideal weight gently and safely and more important -sustainably.
The food was well thought out overall and we all lost weight without starving.
The success of the activities was due to the superb PTIs and I would particularly like to praise Staff Ford for his people skills, Christmas and Bishop made a good team and each brought differentskills to the experience and were well chosen to work together.
I think it is brilliant how you two have established and work had to deliver a strong business and I wish you well
Many thanks
Diana Terry
I was worried about my daughter who had gone to university in another city last year. She had lost weight but her eating and exercise habits were bad, she often did not eat all day and then had takeaways and alcohol in the evenings. She did a bit of running but did not structure her exercise properly.
I thought if I took her to New You Boot Camp she would learn to understand healthy nutrition and exercise for life (not just to be thin) but I didn’t realise I would learn so much!
It was lovely spending time with my daughter and seeing her getting on with the others in the group as an adult.
Pauline Naughton – Country Manor New You Boot Camp – June 20-27 2009
My father died 18months ago and I started to binge for comfort, I gained 2 stone. In that time my mum was diagnosed with cancer so the problem got worse. My partner and I made the decision to get married earlier than planned so that my mum could be there to see it. I tried to lose weight but my motivation was not there and I was struggling to exercise and work at the same time because it would make me feel so tired. After reading a magazine article about New You Boot Camp, I signed up! I wanted everything to be perfect at my wedding day, like any bride but I did not want to be constantly thinking about how I feel about my body. What I have gained here at New You Boot Camp is so much more both physically, mentally and emotionally.
Emma Cathcart – Back to Basics New You Boot Camp – June 19-26 2009
I wanted to get fitter as I had lost my motivation due to having some home life problems.
New You Boot Camp was a fantastic journey for me and I have learnt lots that I can add to my current routine. My goal is to now maintain what I have achieved, and to build myself up to get fitter, faster and stronger.
In the words of Arnie… ‘I’ll be back!!’
Dawn Kneen – Back to Basics New You Boot Camp – June 19-26 2009
I lost 9lbs at boot camp and 13.5 inch's, since being back in the real world I have lost a further 3.5 inches of my hips and in all have lost 22 pounds yey! I have joined a fitness boot camp in the park, kept up morning runs and those dreaded hill sprints! I have race for life in two weeks as well!
Ford, Delong and Keast were amazing, supportive, understand and fun! They never stopped motivating and encouraging me, they are fab!
The food was brill and Kirsty was very supportive too. It was hard week emotionally and physically but I cannot thank the team enough for giving me the encouragement to believe in myself and to never give up! Also a huge thanks to the ladies I was on New You Boot Camp with they were so supportive and real troopers x
I'm soon to go to a New You Boot Camp fitness day! And I never thought I'd say I'm looking so forward to it!
Thanks guys, I really mean it

Danielle, Just wanted to say thank you for organising, we had a great day (helped a bit by the weather) and the instructor was great and& kept us just at the right pace (although must admit a little sore today!)

Beth – New You Boot Camp Fitness Day – Finsbury Park Saturday June 13th 2009
New You Boot Camp for me was an extreme. It was the day after a heavy drinking day on Boxing Day that I decided enough is enough I had ballooned in under 2 years to a size 24 and was literally becoming a recluse. I was unhappy with my weight and because I was unhappy I ate and was in a vicious circle. I decided I need a goal something that I knew wouldn’t go away and I would have to keep focused and began to look at boot camps.
All the others offered fancy prices, great claims but it was New You Boot Camp that seemed to have returning client after returning client who took the plunge. So I did it and booked – family and friends laughed, said I was crazy and never thought I would do it. I received the booking forms and diet guidance and it was from there I started. I had always quite enjoyed the low GI style diet so adapted that with the NYBC guidance and cut out wheat, dairy and generally ate back to basics, normal and natural food. By the time I reached NYBC I had already lost around 3.5 stones.
Then New You Boot Camp came...the nerves were horrendous but as soon as I go there I realised it was silly – the PTI’s, Jax and Pascale were amazing and no matter how good, bad or indifferent any of the group were they were supportive and encouraging.
It was mentally the toughest week of my life, the hill starts, the running, the exercise was extreme because of how badly in shape I was but equally it was the best week of my life all rolled into one.
My advice to anyone looking into NYBC is... no matter if you want to lose weight, gain confidence or just prove to someone you can do it - just book it. Afterwards you will feel the best I believe you can feel as well as meeting great people and great friends.
On top of that once I left I expected it to end, but the encouragement, support has continued with fact sheets, calls, messages of support and that is priceless
I lost 10lbs at boot camp and am now at a size 18 which equals 4 dress sizes and I am hoping that I can get to my goal of a size 14 by Christmas, which I am hoping I will achieve on my next New You Boot Camp that I am planning at the end of the year
Thanks for everything New You Boot Camp J

Getting older, joints were starting to hurt. I put it down to being overweight and unfit. I still had many things I wanted to do so I decided that to lose weight and kick start a fitness regime with New You Boot Camp was the best call.
After all the pain and emotions that I have been through during the week I definitely want to increase my fitness levels and continue healthy eating in order to continue losing weight.
All the staff were great; Anthea cooked with passion and dedication for which I am grateful. Kirstie worked like a Trojan all week with a bigger smile than me and never looked stressed. All three PTI’s were brilliant taking time to encourage all girls individually. They also were very aware when to ease off and when to increase the fitness regime. They all showed real passion for what they were doing for us. Michael from the climbing/walking team was extremely patient and knowledgeable giving each individual just enough encouragement needed to get us up climbs, over walls and scaling, scrambling through waterfalls.
New You Boot Camp was a unique time of my life that will be with me for a long time.
Bev lost a total of 12lbs and 12.8 inches!
Beverley Davis – Back to Basics - May 22-29 2009
I never realised how much stamina I had and how determined I can be.
Thank you so much!
Fritha lost a total of 8lbs and 11inches!
Fritha Taylor – Back to Basics - May 22-29 2009
I have been overweight for a few years now and have been unhappy with my body image, I had also lost complete control over my food intake. I tried every diet but couldn’t stick to any of them. I decided to come to New You Boot Camp as I wanted to slim down in order to improve my fertility. I have been trying for a baby for 2 ½ years and slimming down should help me medically.
This week has been an opportunity for me to restart my life in a healthy positive way. I already feel fitter, slimmer and fingers crossed a baby will come along soon!
Meanwhile I will be able to keep up with the exercise regime and healthy eating. It has been a life changing amazing experience.
Claire lost a total of 9lbs and 13.5 inches. Well done!
Claire Carroll – Back to Basics – May 22-29 2009
I was sitting in my office one day at work and felt ‘I am 42 and if I don’t do something now, it will be too late.’ I became emotional thinking about my 7 year old son and husband. I thought how selfish I was not looking after myself and decided there and then I was going to start getting myself together. I searched on the internet and read about the New You Boot Camp Back to Basics.
Previously my sister and I had been discussing weight. Thinking of this I rang her up straight away to see if she would be interested. She wondered first if a spa retreat would be best. I looked and rang her back to tell her that there was not much difference in price but I felt we could easily cop out of doing enough as the spa retreat.
Boy was I unaware of just what we were in for!
She agreed and we booked it 3 weeks prior to the camp.
Coming here has been amazing. I was 17st13lbs at weigh in and I won’t know what I have lost until tomorrow, but it’s not just about the weight though I feel I have done well. It’s the overall fitness and self belief which has developed. None of which would have been possible without such a fantastic group of PTI’s and Boot Camp Manager. Plus an excellent group on the same week.
Amanda lost a total of 1 stone and 15 inches. Well done!
Amanda Dyer – Back to Basics – May 22-29 2009
Dear New You Boot Camp,
I have to say that when my sister convinced me to join up to your Back to Basics camp 22nd-29th May 2009, I was dubious, scared and very, very nervous. I'd done a little exercise before hand but always gave up when I felt that the results weren't coming as much as I felt they should and then getting annoyed with myself for wimping out.
I have to say coming on the week was one of the best things my sister has ever made me do. I absolutely loved it, especially the abseiling, cargo net and hill walking, Okay, it was wet, cold and very windy on the walk, but the euphoria of showing myself that I can do anything I set my mind to and enjoy it all the more when I don't give up, was an invaluable lesson.
I have to say that without Staffs Keast, Ford and De-Long I'm really not sure how well I would have done. Without their encouragement and belief that what they were asking for could be done, even by me, I think I would have quit, they made the week amazing and fun instead of just good.
Everyone has said how different I look and I'm determined to keep this up and lose more weight & inches.
I'd also like to thank Kirsty for her help and support during the week.
Thanks loads guys, definitely be seeing me at one of the fitness days soon.

Having not exercised for about 3 years due to illness I needed a ‘kick start’ into getting back into it. Always wanted to do something like ‘boot camp’ and upon finding New You Boot Camp on the internet, booked in as soon as I could get a place. Really pleased I did this, truly has been the best week of my life and would not have been possible without such brilliant staff and an amazing group of girls.
Thanks New You Boot Camp!
Peri Vickers – Country Manor New You Boot Camp – April 18-25 2009
In Jan 2009 I decided enough was enough, I had hit a size 24 and weighed 20.5 stone. I was miserable and hated everything. Mid Jan I decided to book on to New You Boot Camp as a goal to lose weight. Using the prep guide as a diet guide until New You Boot Camp I managed to weigh in on day one at 17stone 3lbs.
The week is tough and hard, put with a great PTI (Staff Davies), the fantastic morale and group we had, the difficult times were made easier and the easy times were great fun.
New You Boot Camp is a great motivator to lose weight, and for the less confident and those low in self esteem the support and assistance is immeasurable. THANK YOU!
Kirsty Moffat – Back To Basics - April 24 – May 1 2009
I needed to kick start my fitness to enable me to walk Hadrians Wall and found it exceptionally difficult to motivate myself.
Coming away with such a lovely group of women from all walks of life where everyone supported each other was amazing. There were no moans from the faster people while waiting for the less fit which has made everyone feel part of a team and supported.
All in all, thanks to New You Boot Camp, I am now ready to go home and keep this up, ready to raise the money for Great Ormond Street.
Total loss: 6lbs and 2 inches.

Dear Staff Ford, Staff De Long and Staff Keast
Before New You Boot Camp I had barely done any exercise or training before. I would have driven up hills that I can now sprint up. I only thought about stopping, not about recovery time to carry on. I used any excuse to get out of training, races and team games – now I really enjoy them. I would have forced myself to for 1 minute, now I do I can do it for much longer. I had never tried boxing, circuits, gorge walking or outdoor climbing and they were all great. I didn’t really know how to stretch properly and was rubbish at making time to do it. I was embarrassed about my abilities in exercise and training but now I’m proud of it and what I am capable of.
I used to be scared and anxious about physical training and always saw myself as the biggest and slowest. Now I have learnt that I can do this and I have more confidence in my physical abilities than I have ever had all my life. I never saw myself as “sporty” but now I am looking forward to incorporating exercise into my life at home.
Before coming to New You Boot Camp I didn’t believe I could do any of the things that we have done but now I know I can and will carry on to do so.
I know I would not be feeling like this if it weren’t for your support, encouragement and how you have pushed me. I am here to lose weight and kick start my fitness but that doesn’t matter so much now compared to the confidence I now feel with exercise and training – something I never had before which I now have because of you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget this week for all good reasons.
Thank you so much
Hannah x

I loved New You Boot Camp!!! I had a terrific experience and got out of it exactly what I wanted. I came back lean, toned and totally psyched to get back into regular training. It was exactly what I needed- A kick start! Staff Woods was excellent- he was always smiling and full of buzz! He was sensitive to the needs of all of us and knew when someone was having a particularly rough day. At the same time he really knew his stuff and was always handing out little tips.
Thanks Again!!
Mary Dallatt April 24th to May 1st 2009. New You Boot Camp Back to Basics
"When I booked New You Boot Camp, I was full of intrepidation, working away from home most of the week I was certainly not living a particularly healthy lifestyle. I thought that my goals were clear, to lose weight, get fit and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I did fulfil all of my goals, I lost 10 lbs and 7.4 inches and certainly pushed myself to complete things I would not normally have ever started let alone completed.
What is really important to me, however, is that I found out more about myself, although this will sound very cliché. I learnt that to ensure one is really happy and successful in life you have to have self belief and be happy with yourself, everything else will then follow. My life has genuinely changed due to some life changing decisions I made during the week, in particular whilst walking over Dartmoor in the rain. I am now looking forward to being happier than I have been in a very long time.
The other girls were fantastic and full of encouragement, but I can't thank all the New You Boot Camp staff enough for their ongoing support particularly Staff Wheeler and Balman and Jacqui, which continued even after we left. I am already looking forward to my next New You Boot Camp with a completely different mindset."
Kate Haywood – Country Manor New You Boot Camp – May 9-16 2009
With another summer looming – and a hot one at that— panic set in. I didn’t want to struggle through the long days feeling self-conscious and frumpy.
On the whole I’m quite fit and exercise regularly but the size 12 jeans kept getting tighter. I had also turned forty the previous summer and felt like I’d like to mark it in some way.
So, the holiday was booked and I even managed to convince a girlfriend to accompany me. We were the only ‘pair’ on the Brecon Beacon course, everyone else booking individually, but I needn’t have worried. All the girls were lovely and I had a great week getting to know everybody.
The staff were fantastic and very supportive. You really felt that they were as determined as I was to do well.
The food was great and by the end of the week I even managed to leave some on my plate! I am still maintaining the wheat and lactose free eating plan—although I have returned to drinking coffee.
I lost a total of 6 lbs and 6.5 inches
Exercising feels great, I am definitely fitter (must be all of those damm hills)! I am even planning to run a half marathon in August. Hopefully by then I will be at my ideal weight.
Thank you New You Bootcamp team.
Julie Devonald May 4th -11th Back to Basics
I am inspired to keep up the exercise and healthy eating. I had a great week last week, I can't believe it was so much better than my first Boot camp which was really good.
Today was my first day back at work and it was great to put on a suit only to find it was too big - looks like I need to spend a small fortune at the tailors getting everything altered. I also had so many compliments about how well and thin I looked. I must have been looking really tired and stressed before I came to Wales as everyone seemed to think I looked so relaxed and so much younger. I must admit it is the best way I have found to de-stress. Maybe it should be an annual event, although it is really hard doing the exercise programme on the low calories. I suppose I will just need to see how strong my resolve is and see if I have actually managed to kill my workaholic tendencies this time.

Having spent over £20k on plastic surgery over the last 3 years, to try and arrest my ever expanding figure, I came to the reality that I needed to stop putting myself through these extreme measures and looked at a new way to regain my self-esteem and my figure. Having read about New You Boot Camp in OK, I thought if it is good enough for the celebs it is good enough for me, and I booked straight away. Having completed, what I consider to be one of the best weeks of my life at New You Boot Camp -Back To Basics, not only did I lose 91bs and 9 “ in just one week, I made friends for life, laughed until I cried, achieved physical challenges I never thought possible, and came away with a sense of worth and clarity which was priceless. Don’t deliberate any more, book now and start living life properly.

As a yo-yo dieter all of my life I realised I had to do something about my weight to boost my self esteem and confidence so I signed up for the Country Manor new you boot camp.
It was the most challenging week of my life, all the staff were extremely professional and very motivating. and yes there were tears but I came through lost 11lbs and 15inches lighter and feel so energized that I am currently bouncing off the walls in my office waiting to get outside! I am so pleased that I completed the week, as I now have the confidence and ability to shed the further 2 stone and have made many many friends on the way. I will definitely continue with the lifestyle change and hope to run a good time for the Race for Life on June 7th in Glasgow.
Thank you so much New You Boot Camp.

I am amazed that I have been able to do so much. It’s a nice feeling. I haven’t felt hungry and will definitely try to keep to the diet. I’ve met some lovely girls who really supported me during the activities. The New You Boot Camp has made a lasting impression on me. Thanks so much!

I have a London Marathon place in April. My training had not been going well, so I decided I needed a fitness boost to help me finish. I have completed 5 marathons in the past, so I know what needed to be done. I remembered an article I had read last year, so I did a web search in January and came up with New You Boot Camp. The week has been one of the toughest of my life, but I think it has given me the fitness I need and more importantly the mental strength to finish the Marathon and hopefully enjoy the experience!
Helen Blackburne Age 56 – Back to Basics March 6-13
I decided to go to Boot Camp to get back into some fitness regime and loose those extra pounds that have crept on over the years. At 53 years of age I was feeling rather frumpy and needed a boost. My weight at the start of Boot Camp was 10 stone and 4 pounds. At the end of the camp I lost 7 pounds and 9 inches, I was totally delighted. Other members of the group lost more and looked fantastic.
The entire group, even though I was the oldest by 20 plus years in some cases, supported each other and made the experience at Boot Camp a memorable one. The PT instructors along with the “Call for the Wild” instructors pushed you to your limit, but the exhilaration afterwards was amazing. I certainly feel more physically fit and I have achieved the targets I set my self prior to the camp. If you feel you are in a rut!! Go to Boot Camp. It’s not easy, but the challenges make you a more confident, self assured and physically fit person.

Dear Staff Ferguson
Friday seemed to go by in such a whirlwind that I did not get the opportunity to properly thank you for an absolutely wonderful week - a week in which I learn't so many new skills and so much about myself. None of this would have been possible without your help and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated it.
Your professional approach coupled with your ability to know when a smile was needed, made the week such an enjoyable one. I actually can't believe I managed to have such a giggle on a boot camp!
Thanks again

Update from Jacqueline McLeary from 12stone to 8stone 11lbs and from a size 16 to a size 8!
My weight has dropped down again to 8st 11lb; size 8 pants and some tops as well, but I am still convince that the labelling is wrong in these clothes :)
It is quite frightening and I think it is still all a dream that I am going to wake up any time soon, but you know what I am keeping this dream as long as I possibly can.
Take care and will definitely email again soon.

It’s fastly approaching my 50th Birthday, and I feel I have let myself go big time, putting on more than 2 stone in weight, I lost my confidence in every way.
I had read about boot camp and thought it sounded just what I needed a good kick up the rear, well I enrolled and did it and my goodness I am so so happy that I did, it’s incredibly hard work but what AMAZING results at the end. I’m still working out at home and if I get the odd moment of feeling lethargic I soon hear Staff Fergusons voice saying, “Go on push, push, push give it your 100%.” And I’m soon back to it. It was money well worthing spending. Thank you New You Boot Camp ( : x

For me the challenge was going away for a week on my own – I had been looking at various boot camps/ health clubs spas etc all over the world for a couple of years. New You Boot Camp looked like it had everything I was looking for. I hoped for weight loss and to drop a dress size but it was more about pushing myself to do the exercise. The girls I shared with helped me through the week, there was some highs and some lows – I tried my best and gave it my all! Great week harder than anything that I have ever done- great memories! x
Vanessa Hudson, 21st-28th Feb 2009
Dear Sunny, thanks for your motivating influence. I must say that I have found a new inner strength. I have just consoled four people in a row on the phone. Everyone seems to have problems and don’t get me wrong so do I but I have a new found psychological strength in me. I've turned into everyone’s agony aunt whereas before I would be begging people to listen to all of my problems they would just overload me and I would feel like I could not possibly cope with life. I still have my down days but they seem to be less down since the boot camp. For some reason I know exercise is the cure to my depression/ depressive moments and bootcamp has taught me that. My medicine is exercise as it releases positive vibes/ good endorphins that will bring my mood up and I’m recommending boot camp to all my friends and exercise in general. When I thought I couldn’t do something I was lead to believe I couldn’t accomplish I was told to persist by the staff and you know what I found that with their kind nurturing (that’s you and Kirstie & PTI's) I was able to accomplish things I thought I could not which has been worth every penny of the money I paid as that sort of moment is priceless! not sure if I’m rambling but I just thought I’d put that out there today. Thank you.

"I had an excellent week at Boot Camp. Both Staff Gill and Staff Nesbitt were great trainers, very motivational and made sense as to why we were doing the exercise regime we were. It was tough, don't get me wrong, there were a few hours over the week when I literally thought I was going to let myself down and stamp my feet and refuse to do anymore. But with support from the girls around me and some gentle persuasion from SG and SN, it didn't last long. It was great to have Sunny with us as well and see us through our week! The food was brilliant, not alot of it mind you (aka very different from my usual man sized dinner plate portions) but it certainly made me think about my eating habits. I came back 5lbs lighter and 7.5 inches less. I gained some weight when I came home as I felt ravenous for 2 days after (you didn't tell us that part!), but since then its all settled down and although I have gained a little weight I am still lighter than before I went. However I have kept the inches off (thats the important part), adopted alot of the knowledge SG and SN shared with us regarding exercise into my daily/weekly routine and I feel fitter than I have ever felt in my life!! I have even kept to a wheat and dairy free diet (no more bloating - yay!). To sum it up it was a tough, emotional, slightly constipated, excellent, and amazing week and I am toying with the idea of doing another one this year instead of a beach holiday......!"
Louise Ayres New You Jan 24-31 2009
I awoke on Saturday morning and could hardly speak as I was so nervous! Arriving at Totnes I met a few other ladies waiting for the transport to our ‘HOLIDAY’. Their bags were bursting just like mine and yes we were all very nervous - I had to hold my cup of tea with two hands I was shaking that much!! We were picked up from the station and taken to our new home for the week. However, when we got there we were told to get into our indoor sports kit straight away for our weigh in and meet and greet. We were told that for the next week we would be told on a need to know basis what we were going to do and what clothes we were going to need to wear. We were then taken outside to do our fitness assessment so that they could put us in the correct running group for the mornings!!! That evening, we had dinner and then went out for our first night walk. It was raining and a little chilly, but there we were in our high viz vest and head torches on; we must have looked like rabbits in front of headlights!! We just did not have a clue what was about to happen. We went for our walk, which I thought was great fun, and on our return we were told to go straight to bed and get a good night’s sleep and be in front of the garden room at 5.45a.m.
The next morning, they kindly knocked at our doors at 5.30 to make sure we had not slept in and we then went for our run. This was going to be the routine for the rest of the week, up before the birds, run, breakfast, and then a quick change and on to something else. Each day was a challenge; each day, people had their own problems. Some were hungry, some were just shattered and others just wanted time.
What this course gives you isn’t only an excuse to go out and buy new clothes. It gave me time to realise that I am me, and I matter. Here I was, Sarah, not someone’s wife, not someone’s mother, but ME and I mattered. At times it was really difficult but I managed to find strength that I had long forgotten I had, strength to grab each day as a new adventure, strength to do that final sit up or that final star jump. But I did it, we all did it. Do not get me wrong it is really a tough course, people got emotional, people got really grumpy. But you gave them space and you gave them support as a team, and the next day they came out smiling.
The days are split into sections; you will do all sorts of things from AB classes to weights. One of my favourites was boxercise, this is great to get rid of any frustration that might have built up. One day we went to the beach - no sitting with a picnic though, we were pulling a rope, bunny hopping, using weights whilst running up and down the slopes and boxing. Wow! What the locals must’ve thought as they walked their dogs along this beautiful beach!! But did we care, no…
Then there was the military exercise. Do not wear your good stuff for this one. I thought this was great fun, I had not laughed so much for a long while. We had a great leader for this one, she was really impressed with my machine gun noises!!!! You will get very wet, very muddy but for me I thought it was a great laugh. It was a nice change to be outside. Bike riding was fantastic, it gets you out and you can see the beautiful countryside that surrounds you. It also gives you a chance to freewheel down the hill that you run up and down each morning. Our walk on Dartmoor was a cold and misty day but how can Dartmoor be anything but beautiful. It truly was an amazing day.
The food I thought was fantastic, apart from TOFU!! But luckily they only gave me that the once!! Well done to our fantastic chef Mike, his food would beat any top restaurant.
Thank you all for the most amazing week of my life, it was really hard work and I mean hard work but it was Fantastic. Would I do it again YES I WOULD!

I can’t believe how long ago Boot Camp seems (I’m still finding it a little difficult to shake the regime though) I have sudden urges while sat at my desk to drop to the floor and do a few crunches and press ups!
Before going to Boot Camp I didn’t have the confidence in myself to try new exercise regimes and classes, as I didn’t think I’d be co-ordinated or fit enough to keep up, but now I’m itching to sign up for every class going!
I’ve taken a lot away from my week at Boot Camp; I’m sticking to the 80/20 rule and am feeling so much better for it and am really enjoying exercising again, my fitness levels have improved beyond belief and I am toning up all over – I can’t wait to go wedding dress shopping!
So thanks Sunny, Kate, Staff Nesbitt, Staff Gill, Mikey, Diane and Rebecca for helping me kick start my weight (and inch) loss programme and for such a rewarding and memorable week, I really did love every minute of it!
Hayley Price – New You Boot Camp Jan 24th – 31st 2009
I thought I'd let you know that I've lost a total of 7.6 lbs since the beginning of the year and I'm feeling really pleased with myself!
Thanks for your encouraging messages at the beginning of the year - they really helped.
I've been going to the gym, eating loads better and drinking lots less - I know it's the basics, but it's hard to get back on track! This week hasn't been so good, as I've endulged a bit too much, but I'll get back on to it next week!
Thanks again. Jen Coxon
Before getting to New You Boot Camp I had heard women say it had changed their lives, but part of me didn't really believe it. I'm so happy and gratefulx
Flavia Bertolini – New You Boot Camp Jan 24th - 31st 2008
I didn’t have too many expectations other than hoping to drop a dress size by the end of the week. I didn’t realise on completion that I would come away with a lot more and that part would actually become less important. It was great to have the PTs that we had as they really made the week for me. The food was fantastic and the sizes have certainly made me reconsider my own portion sizes that I serve myself!
It was a great week and I was actually sad to leave. I’ve been sat at my desk today going stir crazy as I am desperate to do some exercise! That is something I never thought possible!
I wish you all the best of luck with New You Boot Camp as I think its great what you are trying to achieve in the long term!

"Before I came on boot camp, I was pretty much in denial! I thought I was a size 14 and ate well, but blamed my family gene's on why I couldn't lose weight. It was too easy to say I'd inherited my Mum's shape rather than admit I wasn't really looking after myself as well as I could. When I came on the camp I was a bit nervous at first, but as soon as I met everyone else I quickly realised I wasn't alone. We all rallied around and helped each other on the tough days and the staff were very supportive in helping us achieve our goals. On the week itself I lost 7lb and came down to a size 12 - and met some truly amazing people!
Since going on the camp 10 months ago I have lost another couple of stone by sticking to nearly all of the food and exercise changes introduced back then. I've learnt that simple changes can be made to how I eat, and it doesn't have to be complicated or expensive which I know puts a lot of people off. There's cheap alternatives you can eat to replace bad habits, it's just a case of making a new habit and then you don't even miss the old food. Before the camp my diet included LOTS of bread/ pasta/ cheese/ cereals. I had been eating plenty of veg and fruit, so thought I was doing well, but didn't realise the portion sizes were ridiculous which was also a big learning curve! Now I have quinoa/ beans/ lentils instead of pasta which makes it really filling and increases my fibre. I don't eat 3 big meals, I eat smaller meals but more often. I've still not gone back to having milk and dairy products - I have soya milk/ yoghurts instead which has completely got rid of my eczema too! I have changed to linseed oil and incorporate nuts and seeds into meals which really livens up the flavours and eat as many different coloured veg as possible at every meal. I don't need bread any more as I have soups and oatcakes for lunch instead of sandwiches. No more cereals for me - porridge all the way. Being a wannabe chef, I've thoroughly enjoyed experimenting! I don't even want chocolate/ crisps/ snacks (and cheese!) because I've learnt to recognise the feeling of being satisfied after a healthy meal and knowing when to stop eating.
I learnt a lot about exercise patterns on the camp and quickly realised that slogging down the gym till it hurts isn't always productive. Doing short bursts of interval training is not only easier to fit into my hectic lifestyle but also has more effect. I've got rid of the stubborn fat and wobble that I haven't been able to shift for years and my husband is continually amazed at my progress. Being able to pick out sexy cocktail dresses and figure hugging jeans wouldn't have happened before, but now I really enjoy seeing everyone's reaction when I turn up at a party or to meet friends. I've inspired many of my friends to make a change and they know if I can do it (and I LOVE my food!) then anyone can. It's just about being committed to making a poitive change for your future and STAYING excited about the possibilities.
Like many others, I had a splurge over christmas, but like it says in your tips "you have to have a life"!!! I figure there's no point in not enjoying yourself once in a while - plus it gives you something to work at once Jan kicks in. I know so many people who are now struggling to get started at all, whereas us boot camp girls only have to get back on track after a few days off rather than years of built up fat!!
If you're thinking about going on the camp - JUST DO IT!!! If I could, I'd get everyone to spend a day in my new body and just see how amazing it is to get up every day feeling so good about yourself!"

Hey Sunny,
Thanks for your email. It was kind of you to follow-up! I'm doing really well thanks. My new business has really taken off and I love working at home and for myself. After boot-camp (where I lost 8lbs) I have stuck with the no wheat, no cow dairy diet for 80% of the time and have lost a further 7lbs! So total 15lb loss since boot camp. It was definitely the kick-start I needed. Am now 9st 1lb and am well on my way to my target weight. I'm losing it slowly so it's staying off! It's great; my face is noticeably thinner and I feel great. So many thanks to the boot-camp team and to the diet!!
Hope all's well with you and that business is good :-)

I have a big birthday coming up in December 2008 and had already set myself a goal of loosing 7 pounds and improving my fitness and eating plan, all of which were suffering due to general life getting in the way.
The decision was made, a week in Devon at New You Boot Camp with lots of exercise and healthy eating had to be the answer. The phone call was made and the financial investment in my welfare too, the commitment was done. As the weeks passed leading up the camp I accumulated all the kit I would require. I have a love of the outdoors and therefore had a lot of the clothing already but my Trainer from my gym, Caroline was a god send and she lent me lots of items to make sure I wasn't going to turn up unprepared!
The week that followed was an amazing experience and a huge challenge to survive 12 hours of various types of activities and exercise. The staff were excellent at persuading you to go that extra mile and not to give up! The first three days were the worst getting used to 5-30 am starts, no caffeine and eating only what was given to you, and I still hate porridge! The results were amazing 9 pounds lost and 6 and a half inches and my goal well and truly reached. I also made some great friends who were there to help you through it all and I cant wait for our 2009 reunion.
On my return to normal life, I am glad to say the morning runs are now part of my weekly routine along with the fantastic meals I now enjoy from the recipe book given to us on the course, and on the days I don't have time to visit the gym I use the exercises the staff show us that can so easily be done at home, an exercise mat an a weight bar was all I needed. Two weeks on I have lost a further 2 pounds and feel fantastic and already buying that smaller dress size! Life and health is a precious commodity some times it just takes an amazing experience to show you the light.
Thanks to all the staff and fellow girls in Devon October 2008.

HERE COME THE GIRLS!
There are some we meet in the passing and forget as soon as they go There are some we remember with pleasure and feel honoured and privileged to know. Could I say to each and every one of the campers and especially the staff this applies to you all. You have restored my faith in human nature you have given me my life back and I will forever be in your debt. The week exceeded all my expectations in terms of the content, staff dedication and value for money. I have no inclination now to even face a mars bar or packet of crisps, I feel ill at the thought .Thank you and I would love to come back .

I attended the boot camp on the 12th Sept this year after looking into it last year and worrying about the price I didn’t do anything. In August this year my husband left me so I decided for some me time and booked myself on camp. I was very worried as I was 5 stone overweight and have always struggled with my weight, I thought I would not be able to keep up etc etc. I cannot put into words the boot camp experience, the highs and lows are immense but the team work and support of both staff and other boot campers makes you feel like you can do anything. I returned from boot camp 14llbs lighter and 7.5 inches smaller, since leaving I have lost another 9 lbs and 4 more inches. What I went through to lose that weight made me so determined not to return to my old ways and I picked up so much nutrition advice - it’s not all lettuce leaves and starvation, I haven’t felt Hungary since I came home and I have had chocolate and wine if I have felt like it but I have kept the boot camp principles in my head, I have also continued running which at 15 stone I never thought I could do. My whole outlook has changed and I have so much determination to keep going in the right direction. I would recommend the experience to anyone without hesitation - so much so I am going back next year. The compliments about my smaller figure also spur me on when I feel like slipping into my old ways. Just go for it - you won’t regret it. Melissa X
I had a great time on the NYBC boot camp Oct. 18-25th in Devon. Loved it and lost 9 pounds and 9.5 inches as well.
I was the only American on the boot camp and got a crash course in Britspeak, not to mention netball and cricket!
I went not knowing what to expect. I was more interested in adventure than weight loss. I almost didn't go because I'd had recent foot surgery and wasn't sure I could keep up. I didn't book my flight or buy my gear until the day before the boot camp. I was reluctant to go but I had this gut feeling I should.
I'm glad I follow my instincts!
It's definitely very challenging. I used to look at everyone else and wonder how we did it - windsprints in the hills at 6 a.m., running obstacle courses, boxing, lifting weights, careening down these quaint English roads on mountain bikes... It never stopped and neither did we!
At one point I found myself in the sea (my favorite place) in a wetsuit, helmet and trainers, bobbing along the shore like a human seal and jumping off rocks - and it all seemed completely normal.
Other campers slim down before your eyes - you see everyone come alive after breaking down over the first few tough days with so much exercise and, er, limited amounts of healthy food. Faces glow and spirits light up.
The Staff were like having three Hollywood-type drill sergeants - with a dash of Jewish mother thrown in for good measure. I'm not sure how they do it, or why they do it - but they are very good at what they do. I developed a respect for the military after knowing them.
I also understand better the power of the military mindset - it forces you out of your comfort zone and makes you believe you can do it. That's what sticks with you. Even though you are all Brits, the place had a very optimistic and supportive, Obama-like "Yes We Can!" vibe to it!

Hi All,
I am keeping up with the exercises, with all different types of classes boxercise, kickboxing step etc. It has really made me think about myself and food (ie do I really need that cake or chocolate) I totally enjoyed everything about boot camp, yes I wanted to go home on the Sunday but come Monday I felt a whole lot different about everything & that I could do it if I really wanted to. I have continued to lose a more weight but it is more in the inches that I am losing it which is great as well.
A really big thanks to you all for giving me this opportunity that has helped change me as a person & believe that I can do things when I really put my mind to it & to try new challenges even if I don’t really like them.
Again thank you very much,

I have worked for other people since I was 17, I have enjoyed it and it’s taken me to some great places and I’ve met some great people but I started to wonder is there more to life than work – YES!
Over those years I have watched my parent’s buy, run and sell 2 very successful businesses and are now off enjoying themselves around the world. I have watched my little sister (10 years younger than me) turn into a beautiful young women and marry a great guy. I am a god parent to lots of my friends children and I did have a nice life but to me it just felt like I went from one high impact job to another, one home to another and with a failed marriage under my belt turning 37 really made me take stock of everything.
It started at the start of this year I went on holiday with a friend to a hotel I have been too a lot over the past 20 years, where one of the bar staff commented on my body having ‘filled out’. We were in the Caribbean and the girls are straight talking and do say it how it is over there! But still it hurt.
I knew I had to do something about my shape. I could offer a guy far more than a great body but from a confidence level I needed to make myself feel better.
I also noticed I was far more aware of walking about in a bikini; I popped a top on every time.
I went to the doctor when I came home as I had noticed I wasn’t sleeping well and felt a bit low. They discovered my blood pressure was really high and it could be due to a slight weight gain amongst other things. My mum had a stroke earlier this year and she is only 57 and also has thyroid problems, so the doctor was concerned about my blood pressure and wanted me to start doing some exercise and have some tests. This was the trigger I needed.
I no longer had work issues to stop me getting to the gym, as I was working for myself I had no excuse, but I really did need motivation to get me started. I knew too many people in Bath to go to the gym not knowing what I was doing – my pride shouldn’t have got in the way.
Then I heard about New You Boot Camp and decided it was the kick start I needed! My friends were surprised I was doing it; my parent’s thought I would be home in one day – I almost was! But I did it and the results have been amazing.
I lost 9llbs and 10 inches. Upon coming home I joined a gym within 24 hours and have been going almost every day since returning. I haven’t put on any weight, which has given me great confidence and I can now run 4k on the tread without stopping – no one on my camp or Staff would ever believe that – I hated running and made a great big fuss every time we had too!
My blood pressure has dropped to a much better level and although I am having tests to find the cause of it I do feel so much better and les worried about it.
My confidence was put to the test last week when I was invited to attend an event that I used to organise in my old job, as a guest. None of my work mates or clients had seen me since I returned from Boot Camp so I put on my new SIZE 10 dress on, new high heels and off I went.
The response was amazing, I felt great and by the sound of it didn’t look so bad either! The fact that my dress was straight and fitted was amazement to my friends, as normally I would go for the empire line to hide my stomach but not this time…
I will admit New You Boot Camp was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I am so pleased I have done it! I didn’t it was worth every penny, every tear and every pair of tracksuit bottoms!
There is still a way to go with my weight and toning up but I feel so much better and a pretty good catch for any man now. My business venture is going slowly but we are giving it a go but I am also thinking of taking myself off travelling. I am in a position to do the stuff I should have done when I finished college but I didn’t enjoy being on my own or have the courage to do it but now I feel I do... as long as I pack my trainers I think I’ll be just fine.
